Her passion and ultimate goal is to help couples attempt to naturally conceive with or without the collaboration of other disciplines. Mercier therapy is based upon the foundation of visceral manual techniques aimed at increasing circulation, reducing scar tissue, and mobilizing the uterus and surrounding tissues. Lack of movement can cause tissue restriction which causes pain and disrupts the bodies natural ability to function. It also assists in rebalancing the reproductive organs of the pelvic to enhance optimal function. The latest research has shown that the Mercier Protocol has an 83% live-birth success rate nationally as compared to IVF with a 31.9% live-birth success rate in 2010. (Source: Mercier, J. 2010). The Mercier therapy protocol consists of an initial 90 minute, extensive evaluation concerning your reproductive health followed by a manual assessment to determine the best course of treatment. Treatment consists of 6 weekly, one-hour appointments where visceral massage and manipulation are performed to the reproductive organs, the back, and surrounding ligamentous tissue with the goal to increase mobility and circulation. The Mercier protocol can be extensive at times and may cause some pain which often dissipates with continued care. It can be used in conjunction with IUI and/or IVF to help optimize medically assisted cycles, or alone with the use of herbs and natural supplements. Mercier Therapy doesn't just aid in reproduction, but also assists in pain management during pregnancy, pre/post labor, and in scar tissue reduction from c-sections. It also aids in relief following a traumatic birth, from sexual abuse trauma, and from debilitating diseases such as endometriosis and PCOS.
