Essex Police are one of the largest police forces outside of the Met, operating across one of the largest coastlines in the UK – patrolled by our Marine Unit. There are two airports – Southend and Stansted – as well as numerous airfields, and the county is home to an extensive rail network, all patrolled by our officers. As seen on Sky One on The Force, we operate across an area of 1,405 square miles which borders four counties and four London boroughs, policing an estimated population of 1.72million, making it the fifth most populous county in England.
