Ethercycle is a design agency born out of a start-up. In 2009, our co-founders quit their jobs to launch a start-up. Their goal was to create an e-commerce platform that aimed to take the pain out of product entry. They worked feverishly for months from a café in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood. Pretty soon they had a proof of concept. They'd even moved into a historic office on the northwest side. During that time, they met a lot of people who misunderstood what they were trying to do. These new friends did, however, understand that the Ethercycle guys knew the Web, and they would often ask: "Could they maybe help with our website?" A year later, the Ethercycle team had pivoted, and they were now helping businesses with their own websites full-time. Their consulting practice continued to grow, they added a partner, and they gained national exposure. Today Ethercycle is thriving as a self-funded, debt-free, and completely independent company located in Park Ridge, Illinois. We are small, focused, and great at what we do.
