European Imports LTD is a mid-sized food and beverage distributor based in Grand Prairie, Texas. The business originated as a family-owned importer and distributor founded in 1978 by Beverly and Seymour Binstein, beginning with cheese imports for the Chicago market. In 1984 it expanded to include a foodservice division that served hotels, fine-dining restaurants, caterers, and foodservice jobbers in the Chicago area, and it later built a national footprint through multiple warehouses and partnerships to reach retailers and foodservice accounts across several regions. Over time it established itself as a full-line specialty food distributor within the broader foodservice industry. On March 1, 2012, European Imports LTD was acquired by Sysco, and its products have since been available through Sysco companies across the United States, extending the reach of its product lines nationwide.
