Evergreen is a national non-profit working to transform public spaces in our cities for the health of people and our planet. Since 1991, Evergreen has been working to steward our planet, educate the next generation and create green, public spaces that benefit our cities and communities. Working with other city builders and community leaders to develop innovative ideas and catalyze change by testing solutions and help scale projects that benefit both people and our planet. Through our award-winning suite of programs, we have actively engaged Canadians in creating and sustaining healthy urban environments in our schools, our public spaces, in housing and transit systems, and communities themselves. Greener, vibrant cities start here – at a site, in a neighbourhood, on the ground – where spaces become great places, and have a real and lasting impact, creating a better world for all. Previously a historic brick factory, Evergreen Brick Works was transformed by Evergreen in 2010 to be an example and showcase of how that comes to life and is made possible.A demonstration hub where the world can experience sustainable practices that enable vibrant cities of the future. It connects people, business, academia and government to turn what-if’s into how-to’s that will shape our country for the better.
