ExeVir is a biotechnology research company focused on developing antibody therapies to prevent and treat infectious diseases, with an emphasis on pandemic preparedness. Its platform centers on humanized camelid heavy chain-only antibody fragments fused to a human Fc region, enabling modular constructs and the development of mono- and multi-specific formats that can reach challenging epitopes. Founded in 2020, ExeVir is headquartered in Ghent, Flanders. Its lead candidate, XVR013m, is described as a variant-proof, broad-spectrum, long-acting antibody targeting a conserved epitope in the S2 subunit of the Spike protein, intended to protect and treat immunocompromised and elderly patients. The company has built a pipeline with an initial focus on COVID-19 and dengue and has advanced discovery and development of stable, cost-effective antibody formats. In late 2024 ExeVir appointed a new chief executive officer, reflecting leadership changes as it progresses its programs.
