Explore Washington Park is a non-profit dedicated to making Portland’s most iconic park more accessible, welcoming, and easy to navigate. Through transportation management and visitor services, we ensure that everyone—whether a first-time visitor or a longtime local—can experience the best of Washington Park without the stress of parking or planning. We operate the Washington Park Free Shuttle Loop, a convenient and eco-friendly way to explore the Park’s 410 acres. With stops at top attractions, trailheads, and transit connections—including the Park’s TriMet MAX Light Rail Station—we help visitors move effortlessly between destinations. Washington Park is home to some of Portland’s most treasured cultural institutions, including the Oregon Zoo, Portland Japanese Garden, Hoyt Arboretum, World Forestry Center, and the International Rose Test Garden. But the Park offers even more: historic memorials like the Oregon Holocaust Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial, playgrounds, picnic areas, an archery range, tennis courts, and over 15 miles of trails that connect to Forest Park, the largest urban forest in the U.S. By managing visitor flow, enhancing transportation, and working alongside our partners, we’re breaking down barriers to access and creating a better Park experience for all. Whether you're riding the shuttle, exploring trails, or visiting world-class attractions, we’re here to help you make the most of your time in Washington Park.
