The Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand) is a state-owned financial institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, based in Bangkok, Thailand. It was established by the Export-Import Bank of Thailand Act BE 2536 (1993), which took effect on September 7, 1993, with the aim of promoting and supporting Thai exports, imports, and investments both domestically and abroad. Over time, the Ministry of Finance has supplemented the bank’s capital to expand its capability to fulfill its mission as a specialized financial institution. Under its enabling act, EXIM Thailand can provide short- and long-term credit in baht or foreign currencies, in domestic or overseas markets, and can mobilize funds by borrowing and issuing financial instruments for sale to institutions and the public; it conducts activities typical of commercial banks except it does not accept deposits from the general public. The organization employs about 201-500 people and maintains a presence online at its website, https://exim.go.th.
