Fabric was developed in 2006 (originally named Jacob's Well) and began weekly gatherings that fall as a new way of being church. This is a community that believes that God matters, and that we need to come together to learn, grow and serve the larger world. We value better questions more than conversation stopping answers. We are not interested in conformity or certainty, but seek unity in diversity and shared hope and purpose. We want to be church, not have one. We also know that God, faith and church need to be relevant, honest, thinking and casual and enjoy experimenting with how to be that.

Fabric is a self-sustaining community that is seeking to develop more neighborhood-based congregations in the Twin Cities, and to teach what it learns to others who can use those principles to create churches in their own communities.

Fabric is a 're-invented' church, exploring new modes and models of being church and is proud to be part of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).
