Fabrica is a research center and think tank focused on contemporary communication. It was founded in 1994 by Luciano Benetton and Oliviero Toscani and follows a learning-by-doing approach. The organization runs one-year artist-in-residence programs for young talents across photography, design, editorial, digital media, video and music, with guidance from subject-matter experts. It is based in Treviso, Italy, in a space redesigned and expanded by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The residency targets creatives under 25 who develop projects under expert supervision. Positioned within Italy's cultural and research landscape, Fabrica supports cross-disciplinary work in the field of contemporary communication.
