Faculdade Meridional - IMED is a higher education institution based in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Its origins trace back to 2001 with the creation of the Instituto de Pesquisa e Estudos Jurídicos (IPEJUR), which offered an extension course related to the then-emerging Fiscal Responsibility Law, and in 2002 a group of law-focused faculty members facilitated the credentialing process for IMED and the authorization of the Law program with the Ministry of Education. The organization operates within the higher education industry, providing academic programs and related educational activities, with a regional focus tied to its location in southern Brazil. The enterprise appears to serve students seeking professional and legal education, supported by a structure that evolved from a legal research and study institute into an accredited higher education institution. A recent development noted is its formal progression from its early legal curriculum roots toward broader higher education offerings through IMED’s established presence in Passo Fundo.
