The Fair Education Alliance is a coalition of 300 organisations tackling educational inequity. Our vision is that no child’s success is limited by their socioeconomic background. Unfortunately, evidence shows that the disadvantage gaps at a system level remain as wide as they were a decade ago, largely due to factors outside the education sector including the pandemic, rising poverty, increasing inequality and insufficient school funding. The severity of the situation presents a moment of opportunity for us to act. We should not fall into narratives such as 'a lost generation' but instead seize our chance to address long standing issues in the system.
