Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is a public school system in Northern Virginia, based in Falls Church, Virginia. It educates more than 180,000 students from prekindergarten through 12th grade, placing it among the nation's largest districts. The district serves as a major employer in the state, supporting a substantial workforce across teaching, administration, and support services. FCPS provides in-school technology support, a 24/7 learning system to extend education beyond the classroom, and comprehensive staff development through academy classes, in-service training, and master’s degree cohorts, along with mentoring for new teachers. Its high schools are regularly recognized for academic rigor, and in June 2026 FCPS earned the regional Gold Level Baldrige Award for organizational excellence.
