Family Rescue is a Chicago-based nonprofit operating in the field of individual and family services, with more than three decades of work addressing domestic violence in the community. It provides shelter and a range of supports for victims—chiefly women and their children—along with advocacy and prevention education to promote system change.

The four core programs—RFL, RAP, COR, and LAP—cover shelter, housing, outreach, and legal advocacy. Rosenthal Family Lodge offers an emergency, 24/7 bilingual crisis line and trauma-informed services to help families transition from violence-related homelessness to permanent housing, and is the only domestic violence shelter on Chicago’s south side. Ridgeland Apartments and Children’s Program, Community Outreach, and Legal Advocacy provide subsidized housing with support services, targeted community outreach in English and Spanish, and court-based advocacy to protect victims’ rights under the Illinois Domestic Violence Act.
