Far Away Friends is an international affairs organization based in Denver, Colorado, that works to equip youth in rural Uganda with the tools to transform their communities and escape cycles of poverty. The group partners with local community leaders and focuses on the holistic development of children, notably through education at its model school, Global Leaders Primary in Amolatar District, where Primary Leaving Exam outcomes have been strong. In addition to running the school, the organization supports salaries and professional development for teachers and school staff and collaborates with government schools to improve learning environments through its School Outreach Program. Founded in 2016, the organization operates with a small team focused on expanding access to quality primary education and related educational resources for underserved communities in Uganda.
