Farhang was founded in 2008, by a group of philanthropists in Southern CA.

Structure and Process
Farhang Foundation is a non-religious, non-political, and not-for-profit foundation (501.c.3 Tax Exempt ID: 26-1574533) established in 2008 in Los Angeles, CA.

The foundation works in three ways to achieve its goals:
By funding university programs, publications and academic conferences.
By sponsoring art and cultural events such as Nowruz and Shab-e Yalda, art shows, musical performances, plays, dances, films, and poetry readings.
By planning and funding exhibitions with local cultural and / or academic institutions, such as LACMA, The Getty, MOCA, CAFAM, UCI, USC and UCLA.
