Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC), AFL-CIO is a civic and social organization focused on migrant farmworkers. It began in the mid-1960s when Baldemar Velásquez organized a small group of workers in northwest Ohio, with the aim of giving laborers a voice through collective bargaining and union organizing. The group pursues industrywide reform by bringing together corporations, growers, and farmworkers to address systemic problems, and this approach has supported changes in wages, housing, and working conditions through formal grievance mechanisms. It is based in Toledo, Ohio, and has built a membership described as thousands of migrant farmworkers. Recent activity includes collaborations to provide mobile health clinics for workers during the summer season, such as a partnership with UT CommunityCare Clinics.
