Company History It all started back in 1894 when Robert Joseph Fawcett founded Robert Fawcett Hay & Grain on a cobblestone stretch of the Inman Square neighborhood of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Committed to meeting the ever-evolving needs of his customers, Fawcett became one of the city’s largest coal dealers in the 1920’s and shifted to home heating oil as it gained popularity in the 1940’s. More than a century later, four generations have followed in their forebears’ footsteps, while remaining true to the mission to keep customers warm, informed, secure, and satisfied.
