The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati is a mid-sized regional wholesale bank that provides liquidity and funding to support housing finance and related economic development activities. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, it serves more than 600 member institutions in the Fifth FHLB District, which covers Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. The FHLB System comprises 11 district banks and more than 6,000 member institutions and was chartered by Congress in 1932 to facilitate liquidity for housing finance. The bank is wholly owned by its member stockholders and does not rely on taxpayer dollars. In 2025, it launched the Hundred Homes Initiative to advance affordable housing opportunities.
