The Ferguson-Florissant School District is a public K-12 system serving about 10,000 students in the suburban St. Louis area, based in Hazelwood, Missouri. It holds full accreditation from the state and operates a range of schools across elementary through high school levels, including STEAM-focused campuses and an Innovation School. The district also runs a nationally recognized early education program, the Challenger Learning Center for space education, and the Little Creek Nature Area, a 97-acre site used to support science learning. It emphasizes student-centered learning and wellness through dedicated initiatives such as a Wellness and Restoration Center. The district has earned national recognition for urban-school excellence, and in early 2026 announced Derrick Mitchell as principal of McCluer High School, to assume the role on July 1, 2026.
