Film Streams is a nonprofit organization based in Omaha, Nebraska, dedicated to enriching the region’s cultural landscape through the presentation and discussion of film as an art form. It oversees two cinemas: the Ruth Sokolof Theater, a two-screen venue opened in 2007 within the Saddle Creek Records complex in North Downtown Omaha, and the Dundee Theater, a historic single-screen neighborhood cinema that reopened in December 2017. The organization serves the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area by providing curated film programming and related discussions that illuminate cinema as an artistic discipline. As a relatively small staff operation, Film Streams focuses on sustained engagement with audiences through its venues and programming. In January 2026 it launched the Common Senses Festival series, expanding beyond mainstream film to immersive art experiences that explore how audiences interact with sound, light, and space.
