First Cal began providing loans to new home buyers in 1977, helping to fund explosive economic growth. In time we launched Headlands Mortgage Company to bring innovative loan programs to mortgage brokers. We expanded the operation across the country and, at one point, made loans in 42 states. The company was sold to a Fortune 100 firm in the mid 1990s. By then, it had earned its stellar reputation by virtue of its lending expertise and by its track record of outstanding service. 

Today’s First Cal continues in that same spirit. Again, we are guided by a commitment to fair pricing and sensible financing for our customers. A company on the move, we insist on employing people who want to help customers meet goals, and who are willing sharpen their skills through ongoing, specialized training. 

Our present organization is by no means merely a replica of the old. Though steeped in a tradition of old fashioned good service, First Cal is alertly in step with the rapidly changing times. Our flexible loan programs and straight talk about mortgage financing add to our legacy with every loan we produce.
