For nearly one hundred years, First Church has been making disciples of Jesus Christ through vital worship, active children’s and youth ministries, excellent adult Christian education, enjoyable fellowship, and by initiating ministries of caring, support, help, and justice for the Rio Grande Valley. First Church is a caring congregation for all people. We take great care to invite and welcome people into our fellowship with a generous hospitality. Come and visit at any service, and you will discover an open and inviting worship style, outstanding music, excellent child care, and people available to help you find your way around our beautiful new facility. We offer Bible studies, educational programs for children, youth, and adults, Sunday School, choirs for all ages, support groups for families coping with grief, cancer, or Alzheimer’s, parenting classes, music ministries, and local and international service projects and mission initiatives–all in an environment of mutual support and openness to help people grow in their faith and deepen their relationship to God. In 2002, we moved into our new facility at McColl Road and Nolana Loop. We eagerly anticipate the great future we trust God has for us as we seek to serve the purposes of Christ for the families of the Rio Grande Valley for generations to come.
