FirstCare was founded in Amarillo in 1985, and we’re still Texas based. We put down roots and we’ve watched them grow. In fact, we’re owned by Texas-based Scott and White Health Plan—part of Baylor Scott & White Health—and are connected to nearly 140,000 members in our communities. Today, our service area includes 143 counties, with local offices in Abilene, Amarillo and Lubbock.

FirstCare’s founders were dedicated to fighting the rising costs of health care. Today, we still offer dependable, no-nonsense plans that are easy to understand. And we work hard to provide flexible plans that fit your budget as well as your health care needs.

Awards and Recognition:

•	In early 2015, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) awarded FirstCare with a three-year accreditation status of Accredited for service and clinical quality that meet the basic requirements of NCQA's rigorous standards for consumer protection and quality improvement.

•	In 2014, FirstCare was recognized by the Texas Diabetes Council and the Texas State Department of Health Services for performing above the Texas average for Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) performance measures related to diabetes care.
