FishWise is a nonprofit environmental services organization based in Santa Cruz, California, focused on improving the sustainability of global seafood supply chains. Its mission is to sustain ocean ecosystems and the people who rely on them by transforming sourcing and production practices across the seafood industry. Its work involves collaboration with seafood companies, governments, and civil society to promote transparency, accountability, and human rights protections within supply chains. The organization has developed tools to assist companies in advancing their social responsibility efforts, including an enhanced version of its RISE program introduced in 2021. In April 2026, FishWise announced Memoranda of Understanding with Seafood Legacy Co., Ltd. and Ocean Outcomes to bolster coordinated efforts toward more transparent and rights-respecting seafood supply chains.
