FCM’s journey reflects steady expansion, strategic investments, and a commitment to evolving capabilities. Founded in 1988 as a mold-building operation, the company entered a new chapter in 1992 when Michael Cave took ownership. Injection-molding operations were added shortly after in 1993, laying the foundation for larger-scale manufacturing. Over the next decade, growth accelerated with the purchase of a 54,000 sq. ft. Clearwater facility, the launch of Ecoplate, and the opening of additional U.S. and international locations—including operations in the Dominican Republic and China. The company continued to strengthen its technical expertise with key acquisitions such as Bengal Plastics in 2010 and achieved FDA registration for its Dominican Republic facility in 2014. Recent growth includes new facilities, expanded prototype and machining capabilities, and acquisitions in thermoforming and metal fabrication. By 2024, the company had grown into a multi-facility, multi-capability global manufacturing organization.
