The Florida Trail Association (FTA) is a nonprofit volunteer organization focused on trail stewardship in Florida. Incorporated in 1964 and based in Gainesville, it coordinates volunteers to build, maintain, protect, and promote the 1,400-mile Florida Trail, a National Scenic Trail developed in partnership with the USDA Forest Service, and it also maintains other trails on public lands as the Florida Trail System through 18 local chapters. As a volunteer-driven nonprofit, it supports educational programs and recreational opportunities for hiking and camping while conserving Florida's natural landscapes. The Florida Trail is part of the broader network of National Scenic Trails; it was recognized as such in 1983. In June 2026, the association announced a partnership with the Trust for Public Land and the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation to expand public access and close connectivity gaps along the Florida Wildlife Corridor and the Florida National Scenic Trail.
