Football NSW serves as the governing authority for association football and futsal in New South Wales, excluding the northern regions where Northern NSW Football operates. As a member of the national governing body Football Federation Australia, it sits within the broader governance framework for the sport in Australia. The organization is based in Glenwood, New South Wales, with its headquarters at Valentine Sports Park, a multipurpose complex that provides meeting rooms, training facilities, and other amenities for activities and events. Through its state-level remit, it coordinates clubs, competitions, and population-level participation in line with national standards.

Its work targets clubs, players, referees, and coaches, supporting governance, development, and community engagement across the region. Recent activity reflects this role: the organization has hosted coach education workshops and honours referees through awards events, illustrating its ongoing efforts to build capacity and recognise contributions within the football community.
