In 2007 Footprints in Recovery became the first private substance abuse recovery facility on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Since then we have welcomed numerous recovering addicts into our home-like setting.Here you are treated like a person with individual needs rather than a number or  a group.Here at Footprints in Recovery we do understand the consequences of addiction, and educate our clients on the disease. We are equipped to address addiction by a holistic approach in a Christian environment. Our staff is committed to exemplify strenght and hope, not only to our residents, but to their families. We are holistic in the sense that our approach facilitates healing of body, mind, and spirit. Individual and family counseling is provided by extraordinary licensed professionals. Being a small, private facility brings an enormous advantage over state and public detox wards and treatment hospitals. Success: in-depth education, 12 steps, self awareness, spirituality and relapse prevention. Other important and unique qualities of the Footprints in Recovery program include our attention given to stress reduction, coping skills, anger management, and self-esteem areas. Resident enjoy a variety of Outer Banks recreational activities. Our guests report feeling welcomed into the Footprints family, not like a number or statistic.
