Ford/Forlano is a Philadelphia-based, small-scale studio producing one-off jewelry and sculptural objects within the retail art supplies space. The collaboration began in 1988 as City Zen Cane, focused on polymer clay and explorations of color and pattern, while developing techniques through studio practice and teaching. In 1998 the practice expanded to include precious metals and other materials, bringing in a Philadelphia metalsmith and adopting the Ford/Forlano name to reflect a new collaborative direction; since 2005, work has circulated between Philadelphia and Santa Fe.

The work is collected by public museums and private collectors, signaling its reception within the contemporary art and jewelry world. The practice centers on a collaborative approach that merges color, form, and surface in unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
