Forecast Public Art is a nonprofit organization based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, founded in 1978 to support artists working in public spaces. Operating across the United States, it connects artists with cities, institutions, and communities to address pressing social issues through public art and collaborates with decision-makers on arts and cultural planning. The organization supports public artists by providing funding opportunities, training, and partnerships that help advance their careers, and it helps others identify, curate, fund, and commission public artworks.
Forecast places a strong emphasis on access for artists of color, Indigenous and Native artists, and groups traditionally excluded. Its work involves engaging with diverse stakeholders in local and national contexts to advance public art as a catalyst for community conversation and change. In 2024, Forecast Public Art launched a Change Lab Research Fellow focused on climate resilience in public art.
