The Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia (FTB) is a mid-sized private commercial bank based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with a multi-decade history of providing banking services described as safe and reliable. The bank traces its origin to 1979, established under Sub-decree during Cambodia’s previous regime, and was reorganized in 2000 to operate as a state-owned commercial bank with autonomous business operations. It subsequently obtained a banking license from the Central Bank in 2001 to operate as a separate legal entity, followed by a second license in 2004 and an indefinite renewal in 2006, enabling ongoing independent operation. In this context, FTB has positioned itself as one of the longstanding institutions in Cambodia’s private banking sector. FTB serves business clients and other customers in Cambodia, leveraging its long-standing presence in private banking to provide stable financial services. In 2025 the bank expanded its digital capabilities for corporate clients with new channels—the FTB Business Mobile App and Corporate Internet Banking—and also opened its 23rd branch in Kampot to extend its reach.
