The Fort Smith Museum of History is a nonprofit museum located at 320 Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The institution houses roughly 40,000 artifacts reflecting local history and maintains the 1906 Atkinson-Williams Warehouse, a National Register of Historic Places property that now houses the museum. Founded in 1910 as The Old Fort Commissary Museum, it is recognized as the city’s oldest museum and possibly Arkansas’s oldest continually operating museum. In 2023, it partnered with the Fort Smith International Film Festival to present the Arkansas premiere of a documentary about Western Swing at the museum, illustrating its participation in broader cultural events.
