Fort Ticonderoga operates as an independent nonprofit educational organization, museum, and cultural destination in Ticonderoga, New York. It preserves North America’s largest 18th-century artillery collection, 2000 acres of historic landscape on Lake Champlain, Carillon Battlefield, and the largest surviving series of Revolutionary 18th-century earthworks. The site welcomes about 75,000 visitors each year and offers programs, historic interpretation, boat cruises, guided tours, demonstrations, and rotating exhibits, with daily access from May through October. The organization is part of the Museums, Historical Sites, and Zoos sector and holds accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums. Founded in 1909, it focuses on education and preservation as a cultural resource in the Northeast. In May 2026, Fort Ticonderoga announced a collaboration with the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum to support artifact conservation through the LCMM Artifact Conservation Laboratory.
