The Fort Wayne Zoo is a mid-sized nonprofit organization based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. As northeast Indiana’s largest tourist attraction, it hosts more than 600,000 visitors each year and cares for more than 1,600 animals. The facility is AZA-accredited and participates in 63 cooperative species survival plans to support conservation efforts locally, regionally, and internationally, with operations funded entirely by earned revenue and donations rather than tax dollars. Its mission centers on connecting children with animals, strengthening families, and inspiring people to care for wildlife. In 2026, the zoo launched Sensory-Friendly Sundays as part of its Zoo for All initiative.
