The Foundation for Health Care Quality is a Seattle-based nonprofit organization focused on improving health care quality. In operation for more than 30 years, it serves a broad spectrum of health care participants, including patients, providers, payers, employers, hospital leadership, and government agencies. The foundation's work is organized into six programs, notably the Robert Bree Collaborative, the Washington Patient Safety Coalition, and four Care Outcomes Assessment Programs. These initiatives aim to advance safer, higher-quality patient care by coordinating across stakeholders and measuring outcomes across care settings. As a not-for-profit entity within the hospitals and health care sector, it positions itself as an independent resource that supports quality improvement through collaboration.
