The Fountain Theatre is a non-profit entertainment organization based in Los Angeles, established in 1990 by co-founders Deborah Culver and Stephen Sachs, dedicated to nurturing multi-ethnic theatre and dance artists. It operates as a venue with a year-round season of fully produced new and established plays, having produced 32 world premieres and 45 premieres across different regions in 29 years, reflecting diverse cultural voices in Los Angeles and beyond. Housed in a two-story complex in Hollywood, the theatre has grown into a notable smaller venue in the Los Angeles theatre scene, supported by an artistic leadership team including Producing Director Simon Levy, Development Director Barbara Goodhill, Associate Producer James Bennett, Technical Director Scott Tuomey, and Community Engagement Coordinator France-Luce Benson. Its activities include a New Plays developmental series, educational outreach programs, and Flamenco presentations, and it engages in national and international tours. Recent leadership changes include the appointment of Johannah Maynard Edwards as managing director, while Barbara Goodhill retired after 12 years of service.
