Franklin Bowles Galleries was established in 1972 in the historic North Beach district of San Francisco. For nearly forty years its founder, Franklin Bowles, dedicated himself to offering high-quality art and to developing the support staff required to curate and exhibit art in the galleries. Later, the gallery expanded to occupy a variety of spaces in downtown San Francisco and New York City. Today, our galleries offer collectors three locations, each with its own distinctive setting. Each gallery location has its own style and individual mixture of artwork, but all bear the Franklin Bowles Galleries’ trademark of quality, integrity and discernment that earns the respect of collectors, art dealers, museum curators and artists around the world. Franklin Bowles Galleries has its own framing facility, China Basin Designs, which is a state-of-the-art frame shop that keeps abreast of the latest innovations in design, conservation and framing. Our Master Framer, Rick Potts, is accredited by the Professional Picture Framers Association, a professional trade guild that upholds the highest standards of craftsmanship.
