Founded in 1946, Freedom from Hunger has six decades of experience fighting world hunger, and 25+ years of experience developing and implementing sustainable self-help methods to empower poor women. Our programs help women to manage and increase their assets, protect the health of their families, and enhance food security. Freedom from Hunger is guided by the vision and expertise of a leadership team with deep roots in the microfinance movement. Several of our team members have led pioneering efforts, developing and testing innovations in value-added (or integrated) microfinance. Our programs and research are internationally recognized for their impact and rigor.
