FREMAP operates as a collaborating entity with the Spanish Social Security, responsible for managing and safeguarding the risks of occupational accidents and occupational diseases that employers are required to cover. It provides these services without adding any cost to employers. The organization protects 5,153,232 workers, representing about 24.6% of the Social Security System. Its offerings integrate prevention under the General Plan of Preventive Activities with healthcare services (outpatient and hospital care), vocational training, social work, and psychology, along with comprehensive management of occupational risk and related economic benefits, such as temporary disability, benefits during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and care for minors affected by cancer and other serious illnesses, plus support for self-employed workers who cease activity. It also operates FREMAP ASSISTANCE, a dedicated line for assistance. Based in the Community of Madrid, FREMAP operates within the hospital and health care sector, focusing on occupational risk management for employers and their workers. In June 2025, it participated in the Canary Islands Human Resources Excellence Awards in collaboration with partners such as Wolters Kluwer and Link Soluciones Informáticas.
