Freshwater Future helps people protect our Great Lakes. Since 1996, we have worked to build effective community-based citizen action to protect and restore the waters of the North American Great Lakes ecosystem.


Mission
Freshwater Future builds effective community-based citizen action to protect and restore the water quality of the Great Lakes basin. We work toward this goal by providing financial assistance, communications and networking assistance and technical assistance to citizens and grassroots watershed groups throughout the Great Lakes basin.

Freshwater Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps people in the U.S. and Canada protect the water resources in their communities. We serve communities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Ontario. Our services help local communities through grant funding, communications and networking resources and specialized consulting.
