Friends of Barnabas provides high quality, sustainable medical care to children in Honduras, enabling rural communities to become self-sufficient through health training and education. Based in Midlothian, Virginia, and Pena Blanca, Honduras, FOB mobilizes staff and volunteers to provide health care to children in remote areas and educating community volunteers to promote health and wellness and identify community health needs. FOB is identifying children with special health needs to receive additional care through its Extended Care Program, and FOB is establishing surgical programs including pediatric cleft lip and palate and a pediatric cardiac surgical program in Honduras. FOB sends up to 16 volunteer mission teams per year to accomplish our work in Honduras.
