Frontier Angels is a Montana-based collective of more than 100 individual angel investors who regularly convene in Bozeman, Missoula, Kalispell, and Billings to support emerging technology companies. The group concentrates on seed and early A-round opportunities across software, biotech, ag-tech, energy tech, and related sectors, focusing on technology-leveraged business models and companies from Montana and the greater PacNW and Rockies region. Members select the opportunities they want to back, and an optional Matching Fund can programmatically invest when four or more members commit to a given company. The organization partners with regional institutions and programs, including Montana State University’s Vice President for Research office, TechLink, the Chief Commercial Officer of Montana, Montech, Blackstone Launchpad, and Next Frontier Capital, to enhance Montana’s capacity to conceive and commercialize technology. Based in Bozeman, Frontier Angels aims to concentrate capital and expertise around foundational programs designed to accelerate the commercial viability of quality technology companies in Montana, with a mission focused on creating high-paying jobs through prudent investments.
