The Fulbright Association is the official U.S. alumni organization for the Fulbright Program, extending the exchange into a lifelong experience for U.S. alumni and their friends. It supports ongoing learning, collaborative networking, and service projects at home and abroad. Its mission is to advocate for the Fulbright Program and promote international education, with a vision of international exchange as a force for peace. Established in 1977, the association represents a substantial community of Fulbright alumni and others involved in international education. Based in Washington, DC, the organization operates through 50 local chapters and coordinates more than 230 regional and national programs each year, including educational events, career development seminars, and cultural activities. In 2025 it announced the appointment of Tammy Hettinger as Executive Director, effective July 30, 2025.
