Our Preschool Program began as an outreach program of the Highland Plaza United Methodist Church and, as of June 2010, is a ministry of Hixson United Methodist Church. It is the oldest Chattanooga licensed morning preschool program north of the river, having been established in 1965. We hold a 3-star license from the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services. Our school serves children ages 2, 3, 4 and 5. Our program is overseen by the Preschool Board of Hixson United Methodist Church. The committee is made up of elected church members and preschool parents who meet on a routine basis to discuss the plans, activities and programs of the Preschool. Our foremost goal is to provide a loving atmosphere and safe environment based on Christian principles, so that, working together with you, we can nurture and support your child in his/her social, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual development. Children of all faiths and nationalities are welcome and accepted. Highland Plaza United Methodist Preschool is a Reggio Emilia inspired preschool.
