Furey, Furey, Leverage, Manzione & Darlington, P.C. was founded in 1968.  Our practice covers all aspects of civil defense litigation with a primary concentration in medical malpractice defense litigation. Through the years we have successfully defended physicians in all specialties of medicine, as well as hospitals, nursing homes, nurses, podiatrists, physician assistants and dentists.  We are also skilled in defending claims involving premises liability, elevator accidents, sexual harassment, Labor Law, construction accidents, products liability and automobile liability. Our partners and associates have distinguished themselves as expert civil litigators, and the firm is regarded as one of the preeminent litigation firms in the region.

Our primary area of practice is insurance defense, with concentration in high exposure claims of medical and professional malpractice, nursing home litigation, and general commercial liability, including premises and automobile liability, construction site accidents, and defective products.  We have also handled cases involving elevator and escalator actions, employment related personal injury such as sexual harassment, wrongful termination and defamation.  Our practice has also handled insurance coverage claims, including resolution of priority of multiple insurance policies, disclaimers, anti-subrogation and litigation of policy provisions and exclusions. We also represent medical professionals in investigations conducted by the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC) and the Office of Professional Discipline (OPD).    

We have offices in Nassau and Suffolk County as well as Sullivan County in Central New York.  Our main office is located in central Nassau County, Long Island New York, minutes from the New York Supreme Court in Mineola, and the New York State District Court in Hempstead.
