Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) operates public transit services in Gary, Indiana, and has played a central role in regional mobility in Northwest Indiana since its formation. Originating in 1974 when the City of Gary acquired Gary Intercity Lines, the agency expanded its routes beyond Gary to connect with neighboring communities such as Hammond, East Chicago, and several towns in the Calumet region.

Its mission emphasizes meeting employment, social and medical transportation needs while supporting economic development in Gary and the surrounding Northwest Indiana region. The organization operates within the public transportation sector and is regulated by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, with authority over routes, equipment and service standards. A notable recent development is the 2023 introduction of four electric buses, reflecting modernization and environmental considerations in its fleet.
