Gateway Terminal is a deep-water terminal operator based in New Haven, Connecticut, founded in 1985. It is licensed and bonded to handle a range of dry and liquid bulk and break-bulk cargoes, serving the broader maritime transportation sector. The operation sits on eight acres with access to more than 50 acres of storage, and it is described as the state's only independent, privately owned marine terminal. Gateway Terminals maintains a fleet of fifteen tugs and barges, all American-flagged, with capacities from 1,000 to 11,400 tons, enabling cargo movements to ports ranging from Maine to Texas and Puerto Rico. In 2023 Gateway Terminals announced a partnership with AdvanceCT to support Connecticut's terminal sector, illustrating collaboration within the regional maritime industry.
