GEDIA North America is the Dalton, Georgia-based regional arm of the GEDIA Automotive Group, operating within the motor vehicle manufacturing sector. The unit designs and manufactures car body press parts and welding components for the automotive industry, as well as chassis components. The GEDIA group operates eight production plants across Germany, China, Hungary, India, Mexico, Poland, Spain and the United States, and it maintains joint ventures and cooperation in the USA, Mexico and China. Worldwide, the group employs more than 4,200 people, with about 900 based at the Attendorn headquarters.

Recent developments include a 2024 memorandum of understanding with Tata Steel Nederland to secure a long-term supply of steel with a lower environmental footprint. In 2023, GEDIA expanded its European footprint by establishing a Barcelona plant with a new production line intended to serve the Volkswagen Group at its facility in Santa Margarita i els Monjos (Barcelona).
