GEI is a venture capital and private equity principal investment fund based in Nancy, France. It brings together entrepreneur-investors from the Grand Quart Nord Est to support the development and transmission of SMEs with potential within a European-scale economic area. Managed by Poincaré Gestion and authorized by the AMF as a FCPR, GEI seeks to act as a bridge between national funding mechanisms and regional proximity, investing 2 to 7 million euros to foster the emergence of ETI in the Grand Quart Nord Est. The fund reached a final closing of 55 million euros and had completed several investments by the end of 2012; its geographic scope covers seven regions (Alsace, Bourgogne, Champagne-Ardenne, Franche-Comté, Lorraine, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Picardie), with subscribers largely consisting of business leaders and families from the Nord-Est.
